Starbucks released the news of their holiday drink lineup that's available on Thursday, November 7. While most people were excited to see the new holiday cup designs and looking forward to trying their favourite winter drinks, one thing stood out. The Starbucks Canada Christmas menu is the only one to include the Gingerbread Latte. Not only is it just available in Canada, but it also has a tasty new topping and twitter users sounded off online about the omission from the American menu.
While some people were busy being dazzled by the new cute holiday cups, others were horrified to realize that they couldn't get their hands on a Gingerbread Latte this year. The holiday 2019 menu in Canada is full of returning classics like the Chestnut Praline Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Eggnog Latte and Caramel Brûlé Latte. However, according to Business Insider, the Gingerbread Latte has been struck from the menu in the United States.
The Gingerbread Latte has a fresh look and it's totally irresistible. "This holiday beverage is now topped with spice-infused whipped cream prepared with cinnamon, cloves and ginger and finished with a real molasses drizzle," read a press handout from Starbucks.
It didn't take long for Starbucks fans online to express their views on this year's omission of the Gingerbread Latte from the menu.
Some Twitter users seemed to be simply confused by the vanishing Gingerbread Latte. One tweet reads, "if Canada can get it why not the US?" Other tweets were asking "Why?" even asking the question in all caps because Twitter.
Others used gifs to express their emotional state after hearing the news.
Some Twitter users reacted with utter disbelief. Others simply resigned themselves to heading up to Canada to get their hands on the Gingerbread Latte. Let me just say, any fans missing their sweet gingerbread fix are welcome in Canada anytime.
