Tim Hortons Isn't Giving Out Freebies For National Donut Day This Year And Canadians Are Not Happy About It
There's not even a special offer!
It’s been a long week, and it is finally Friday and time for Canadians across the country to slow down and get ready for the weekend. If that wasn’t good news enough, today, June 7 is, as any sweet treat lover would know, National Donut Day. To celebrate the occasion, a number of popular donut-y stores are offering discounted, or even Tim Horton's National Doughnut Day celebration is really underwhelming this year.for Canadians nationwide. However,
While Krispy Kreme Canada has stepped up andtoday with no purchase necessary, other brands have fallen short in Canadian eyes. Yes, they’re looking at you Tim Hortons.
While the Canadian company acknowledged the occasion last year and created a new, limited edition ‘Honey Dip Donut Breakfast Sandwich’, this year they have neglected to release a new special treat for Canadians. To add insult to injury, The US Tim Hortons have recognised the date by launching the new ‘churro’ donut, and it looks delicious!
Although the popular coffee-stop did acknowledge National Donut Day on their Twitter account, using the worldwide trending #NationalDonutDay, this was not enough for many Tim’s donut lovers who were keen to get their freebie this morning.
Twitter users were disappointed to learn that Tim Hortons was not offering any special promotions in Canada, and not even a limited-edition donut.
Nonetheless, you can still celebrate the day without a free donut. Whether you’d prefer to go for a freebie donut over at Krispy Kreme, or stick to what you know and fork out for a Tim Hortons, or perhaps you’ll even try your hand at making your own sweet treats, whatever you do enjoy it. You deserve it!
