Your daily Timmies run is about to get charitable again, and this time you don't even have to go in-store! Tim Hortons Smile Cookies are back and it looks like you'll be able to get your hands on them for one week only. And, new this year, you can even pre-order the charity cookies direct from the website.
Smiles on cookies? You can't beat that. Although let's hope they turn out better than some of last year's did, eh?
The Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie campaign is back on from Sept. 16 to 22, which helps raise money for 550 local charities, hospitals and community programs across Canada. According to the press release, the initiative raised $7.8 million across Canada last year.
You can also pre-order Smile Cookies for events, work parties or organizations, and it's easier than it ever has been.
Meghan Giffin, PR at North Strategic, told Narcity that this is the first year of the program that will allow customers to order direct from the Tim Hortons website.*
She also confirmed that pre-orders must be for at least 12 Smile Cookies but there's no maximum, so if you want to pig out, go for it. At least you're helping some really great causes.
In fact, you'll be helping more causes than ever this year. Tims has added another 50 charities since last year. Check out the full list of charities served by location here.
It's the latest year in a long-running campaign. The first Smile Cookie was sold about 23 years ago in order to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children's Hospital in Ontario.
Who knew giving money could taste so good?
