With the Raptors' victorious win still fresh in the mind of Canadians, Drake is taking his love of basketball to a whole other level after announcing his partnership with Uninterrupted. Founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, the brand is launching Uninterrupted Canada thanks to Drake. It will be the brand's first international expansion in Canada. Uninterrupted plans to develop content that will showcase athletes and entrepreneurialism throughout the nation.
Originally founded in 2015, Uninterrupted was created by basketball superstar LeBron James and media personality Maverick Carter. The brand, which mainly focuses on athlete empowerment, is built on the ideology that all athletes should be able to express themselves through their own stories.
Since the brand was founded in the US, Uninterrupted has been able to create content, merchandise, events and educational opportunities that allow athletes to engage with the public and create a positive environment around the sports world.
Now, Uninterrupted has announced that it is taking its first international expansion to Canada, with the help of one of Canada's top sports enthusiasts, Drake.
According to the press release, Uninterrupted Canada will be collaborating with Shopify Studios and Drake to develop content that will be able to connect culture and sports to Canadian fans around the nation.
In order to celebrate its launch, Uninterrupted Canada has already announced that it has signed its first deals with two Canadian athletes.
Toronto Raptors star Serge Ibaka will be working with Uninterrupted in the first-ever Canadian look deal. While All-Star pitcher and former Blue Jay, Marcus Stroman will be working with the company to produce a motivational series titles "Height Doesn't Measure Heart".
Drake shared his excitement on being a part of this expansion by stating, "Uninterrupted has been an incredible platform for athletes to tell their stories and connect with fans. I'm honoured to partner with LeBron to bring Uninterupped to Canada, a country that continuously supports innovation and creativity."
With this international expansion, Canadians will also be able to access the content that Uninterrupted has created in America.
This new international branch will be led by CEO Scott Moore and Chief Content Officer Vinay Virmani.
