The Canadian Mint is back again with more collector's items. This time they just released a new, limited edition coin collab with a Canadian influencer, Peter McKinnon. The coin series is the latest move from the Mint to showcase Canadian talent.
The Mint has launched the new series which features Peter McKinnon's photography on a silver coin. The picture is in full colour and the coin also features an aperture marking and McKinnon's signature. The first coin in the series of three features an image of Moraine Lake in Alberta, with crystal blue waters and mountains in the background.
This coin is also super limited edition. Only 5000 of them were minted meaning they are going to sell quick. In fact, it's so rare that you can only buy it online and the Mint has even limited who can purchase them. The coin, which cost $189.95 can only be bought in Canada or the US and it's limited to one coin per household. The coin was just launched today and already over 14,000 people have viewed it online.
As for the artist behind the limited edition series, there's a lot more to him than just coins. Peter McKinnon is a photographer, Youtuber, Instagram star, and self-proclaimed coffee addict.
For those of you who don't know him, Peter McKinnon is based out of Toronto and posts breathtaking pics of the city on his Instagram, where he has over 1.7 million followers. He also shares gorgeous photos from across Canada and around the world.
That's not all though. He also runs his own self-titled Youtube channel where he gives photography tips, filmmaker reactions, vlogs, and even coffee advice to his over 3.4 million subscribers.
McKinnon even has a merch line. He partnered with James Coffee Co to sell a signature hat, leather mug, pins, and McKinnon's very own coffee blend.
The Mint has not yet revealed what the next two images will be in this three-part, limited edition series but if you want to take a guess, you can check McKinnon's Instagram here.
