It's no surprise to us that Canada has officially ranked among the top 10 happiest countries in the world. Narcity constantly celebrates everything that Canada has to offer, so we know how happy Canadians are living in our great nation. From national pride to Beavertails to Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, we know that Canadians love to celebrate anything and everything that makes our country great!

Even though we didn't rank first, we'll gladly take a spot in the top ten! The World Happiness Report was released and Canada sits at a comfortable seven on the scale! Not too bad for a relatively new country, eh?

Here are the top 10 happiest countries:

  1. Finland

  2. Norway

  3. Denmark

  4. Iceland

  5. Switzerland

  6. The Netherlands

  7. Canada

  8. New Zealand

  9. Sweden

  10. Australia

The World Happiness Report depends on six key variables that support general happiness and well-being: income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity.

Canadians are well known for their multiculturalism, outdoor sports and of course, our generosity. You'll never see a Canadian leave Tim Horton's without saying "thank you". It's pretty safe to say that the report got it right when they said Canada is among the happiest countries in the entire world!
