It's always a great feeling to give back to your community, whether that's by volunteering, cleaning your local parks or donating blood for the Canadian Blood Services.
Right now, the latter is in desperate need for donations and they're hoping that Canadians will take action by donating for the greater good.
According to CTV News, Canadian Blood Services says they're in "urgent" need of donors before the Labour Day long weekend. The reason being, donation levels systematically drop over the holidays due to vacations and children going back to school. They know that donations will be needed now to make up for the donations lost during the holidays.
They've stated specifically that the organization needs more than 22,000 donations of blood before August 26th.
Right now, blood type O-negative is very in demand. This blood type is typically the most in demand because it's compaible with all other blood types. If you or your friends have O-negative blood, definitely consider scheduling an appointment to donate!
