Canadian Starbucks Workers Are Sharing Their Thoughts On Closing Their Stores Today For Racial Sensitivity Training

They aren't happy.

If you haven’t heard today Starbucks has closed their stores for a portion of the afternoon in order to provide their staff with racial sensitivity training.

This all comes from an incident in Philadelphia a couple of months ago when two black men were arrested for sitting in a Starbucks waiting for a friend, sparking outrage worldwide.

Well some of the people who are working at Starbucks today are taking to Reddit to express their thoughts on having to close for a chunk of the day.

Now if you thought that the workers would appreciate the chance to have this training you're wrong.

Many of the comments on the Reddit post say that this is a complete waste of time for those working there.

Some of them say that it’s not the workers who need the training, but the customers themselves who could use a lesson in how not to be discriminatory.

Some customers who commented on the post say that they don't think that it's right for Starbucks to be kicking people out of the store seeing as the whole idea here is to support an enviroment where everyone is welcome.

So yeah, no one seems to be a fan of this.

Whatever you think of the issue the stores will be closed at 3 p.m. local time until the training is complete.
