Ever since their relationship became public almost three years ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been the centre of attention when it comes to the royal family. First, it was the engagement, then the wedding, and now their future baby. Despite all that though, Canadians just revealed who their favourite royal is, and it's not Meghan Markle.
In a survey done by Research Co. Canadians were asked to give their opinions on the Monarchy, including what they thought of each member of the royal family. Canadians were given the name of each of the main royals, and asked: "Do you have a favourable or unfavourable opinion of each of the following people?"Surprisingly, despite being talked about so much, Meghan Markle didn't get the highest vote.
Instead, the most favourable royal based on these results is Her Majesty, The Queen. In fact, 34% of Canadians surveyed said they thought of Queen Elizabeth II very favourably. Meanwhile, another 37% of Canadians thought of her moderately favourably, bring the total percentage of those who like the Queen up to 71% of respondents, which is an overwhelming majority.
The Queen wasn't the only one to get impressively high results though. Some other members of the royal family weren't far behind her.
Tied with the Queen, with 71% of respondents thinking of him favourably was Prince William. Unlike the Queen, however, only 29% of people found William very favourable while 42% found him moderately favourable.
Both his brother and his wife come up just short of that mark. 70% of Canadians said that Prince Harry was either very favourable or moderately favourable, while 68% said the same about Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. In all three cases, these are still large majorities.
Meghan Markle, however, was slightly less liked. Despite being talked about around the world lately and even having lived and worked in Canada for a few years, the now Duchess of Sussex didn't do as well as her family in the polls.
Only 22% of Canadians polled said they had a very favourable opinion of Meghan, while 38% said their opinion was moderately favourable. In total, this adds up to 60% of Canadians thinking favourably of Meghan, which still isn't bad.
At the bottom of the list, however, there is the Queen's husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles, and his wife Camilla. While Philip managed to get a majority with 54% of Canadians having a favourable opinion of him, Charles and Camilla didn't poll as well with only 43% and 32% respectively.
