Canadian icon Celine Dion will be embarking on a massive North American tour this year. The Quebecois singer announced this week that she would be performing in over 50 cities throughout the tour, which will kick off in Quebec City on September 18th. Celine Dion's North American tour is her first in nearly a decade.
Dion will play Montreal on September 26th and 27th before making her way to our nation’s capital, playing Ottawa on October 16th. Dion will stop by the 6ix on December 9th. The North American dates are just the beginning for the icon who will be launching a follow-up world tour to promote her new album Courage, which will be released later this year.
According to Setlist.fm, Celine current setlist includes some covers alongside her hits including her haunting rendition of Elvis Presley's I Can’t Stop Falling In Love With You. Titanic fans are in luck though, as it appears that the singer has been saving her tearjerker masterpiece for what is sure to be an emotional encore.
Dion named her album Courage to symbolize the hardships of life. Dion’s husband and long-time mentor Rene Angelil passed away from a heart attack back in 2016 after a long battle with throat cancer.
"When I lost Renee, before he went to his other life, he wanted me back on stage. He wanted me to make sure I was still practicing my passion, and I wanted to prove to him that I'm fine, we're fine, we're going to be OK. I've got this,” Dion had said about the album to Global News.
Dion’s residency in Las Vegas which she has held since March of 2011 will come to an end in June of this year. During her residency in Vegas, the singer typically performed 70 performances per year, earning a whopping $500,000 a show. The massive payout and consistent shows have solidified the Canadian as the top earner in the history of Vegas performers.
