Another day, another morning trying to unpack Donald Trump's latest public address. This time Trump's antics have got Canadians scratching their heads and a little uncomfortable after his comments over trade relations between the two countries. People can't figure out whether his comments were an attempt to snub Canadians and Trudeau or an attempt to hit on them.
It all started during the most recent NAFTA negotiations round where Donald Trump addressed governors about Canada and their tactics on trade:
Yes, that would be video of Donald Trump calling Canada "very smooth." To give a little more context (though it doesn't really make the word choice any less weird), Trump had said "we lose a lot with Canada. People don't know it. Canada is very smooth."
It's not the first time that Trump has attempted to come at Canada considering he's made it vocal that he isn't a fan of the way we operate. Though the comment was especially inappropriate considering the nature of that meeting was actually about public safety in the wake of the Parkland shooting.
Of course, Canadians immediately jumped at the interesting word choice and made light of the situation in the only way we can:
