Today is a huge day for online shopping thanks to Amazon Prime Day. Online shoppers wait all year long for Amazon Prime Day so they can grab the best online deals. But they aren't the only ones with huge sales today.
eBay Canada has announced a massive two-day sale to compete with Amazon's event and the deals look incredible.
The deals cover every category there is from a $100 Esso gift card for only $90 to a pair of Beats Headphones for $99 instead of $400 to some Adidas sneakers that are more than 50% off.
On top of those deals, each item has free shipping on Canadian deal items making their prices even more competitive. In addition, eBay has taken it a step further by offering a price guarantee, meaning if you prove a competitor has a product at a lower price, they will not only match it but give you a 10% discount on that item.
It is very clear that eBay's massive summer deals event is targeting Amazon Prime Day specifically, not only in its sales but also in its marketing. In the press release leading up to the event, they specifically call out monthly membership fees and boast about not having any.
You can even notice the digs at Amazon in the banners on eBay's home page. One ad reads "No Memberships. Just Kick-Ass." It goes on to say "1 day of deals? We're here all year. And always with free shipping."
eBay and Amazon remain as big rivals in the online retail market. While eBay has been around longer, its reputation as just an auction site may have held it back a bit as people weren't aware they stocked and sold new items as well allowing for Amazon to become a much bigger market.
