Multiple people have been taken to hospital after what police in Cincinnati called an "active shooter" incident in the city's downtown.
Police now say that the area is now secure and that the gunman is dead, along with two people he shot.

According to a city councillor in Cincinnati, there are "multiple (people) shot, and tragically there are fatalities."
The shooting occurred at a bank downtown around 9:20 AM local time Thursday morning. Some witnesses say that there were at least 15 shots fired during the incident.
Multiple people were taken to the hospital following the shooting. According to police five people were injured in the incident.
Police are asking people in buildings near the area to "remain in lockdown mode" for now.

As of now, no motive has been provided to explain why the shooting occurred.
There have also been no names released for the victims, or that of the now dead shooter.

The FBI says that they will be helping Cincinnati Police with the investigation.
The area of the shooting is reportedly a very busy section in the downtown of the city.
