GO Transit just released a statement saying that a man is dead after being hit by one of their trains east of Milliken station on the Stouffville Line.
According to Metrolinx spokesperson, Anne Marie Aikins, the man was on a bicycle when he was hit at the Steeles Avenue East crossing, east of Kennedy Road. He was rushed to hospital but unfortunately later died of his injuries.

The incident happened just before 10 AM this morning, October 18th. GO trains on the line will be now starting at Kennedy until the situation clears.
GO says customers who need to can use the TTC as an alternative to their routes. GO tickets and PRESTO cards will be accepted on TTC.

Buses are also going between Union and Unionville.

Aikins sent a message from her Twitter account,“Our condolences go out to his loved ones & our thoughts are with our crew, first responders who tried very hard to save his life & our customers,” it read.
