IKEA is not only beloved by Canadians for their stylish but affordable furniture but also for their delicious cafeteria food menu that makes the shopping experience even better. Now, the furniture chain has just made its food lineup even better. IKEA Canada just added a new item to their food and it sounds absolutely delicious. We seriously cannot wait to try this!
IKEA Canada added salmon meatballs to their menu for the first time ever! Not only do these sound delicious, but they're also an affordable seafood meal option as well. It gets even better – this dish is also sustainably sourced!
This seafood meal will only cost you $6.99 at IKEA. The salmon meatballs are also served with a seasonal side dish, such as mashed potatoes or tomato spinach ragout. The furniture chain launched their new salmon meatballs across the nation today on March 11, which means you can now head on over to your local IKEA to try their newest menu item.

The salmon balls are made from ASC-certified salmon and MSC-certified cod, IKEA Canada says in their official press release provided to Narcity. The salmon balls are sustainably-sourced and responsibly-produced. The dish is seasoned with seaweed and lemongrass.
"At IKEA, we want to inspire and enable Canadians to live a healthy and sustainable life, within the limits of the planet," said Danielle Beauchesne, IKEA Canada Food Manager, in the press release.
"With the IKEA salmon ball, we are able to offer a delicious new plate inspired by our Swedish roots, with a carbon footprint that is approximately seven times lower than the traditional meatball."
IKEA already has a delicious Swedish meatball and plant-based veggie ball on their food menu, so we can't wait for this salmon meatball to join the ranks. They also introduced a veggie hot dog to stores across Canada last year in October 2018, and it was a huge hit.
You can now try the salmon meatballs at IKEA locations across Canada! To find your local IKEA store, you can visit their website.
