The annual Christmas Julbord is back at IKEA Canada this month. The furniture store giant is inviting Canadians to celebrate a true Swedish Christmas with them in the best way possible - an all you can eat buffet.
The Swedish Christmas smörgåsbord is an annual event IKEA puts on in their restaurants and cafes at stores across Canada. On a select night, which varies depending on the store, you can go and completely pig out on all the Swedish meatballs you want.
Meatballs aren't the only thing on the menu though. The Julbord features all kinds of Swedish holiday favourites including Christmas ham, herring, salmon, potatoes, eggs, variations of cabbage, crispbread, cheese, and gingerbread, among other things.
The best part is you aren't limited to just one of these. Since it's an all you can eat buffet event, you can load up on as much ham, herring, and gingerbread as you can handle.
While some locations like North York, in Toronto, have already hosted their Julbord's for the year, a number of Canadian stores have their feasts coming up soon.
In Vaughan and also Etobicoke, for example, their Julbords will be taking place this Wednesday, December 12th from 5:30-7:30 PM. There are also stores like IKEA Richmond, in BC, that are hosting numerous dates. They're having Julbords on December 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th, and 20th, all from 5-7 PM.
Each IKEA location host's their Julbord on different days so you should check the event page of your local store to find out when their festive feast is. Tickets are $19.99 for the general public and only $15.99 for IKEA family members. They can be purchased in advance at IKEA restaurants.
