Hedley's disgraced frontman Jacob Hoggard tied the knot in a New Year's Eve wedding ceremony this week, according to online reports and new photos shared by guests. Hoggard is officially married to Rebekah Asselstine, a 28-year-old actress and dancer from British Columbia. Asselstine's friend revealed on Instagram that the ceremony was filled with "laughs and tears of joy". "It’s true, all my smiles begin with these two," her friend wrote. "An absolute perfect day celebrating the marriage of my bestie and the love of her life!"

Hoggard grew up in Surrey, British Columbia, near Asselstine's hometown of New Westminster. Asselstine has had roles in multiple shows and movies in recent years, including The Perfect Pickup (2018), The Unseen (2016) and Supergirl (2015). The couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends and their dog, which they dressed in an adorable tux.

It's reported that Hoggard and his wife got married in Vancouver.  ET Canada reports that the wedding was a private affair, which was likely a deliberate choice in light of Hoggard's impending sexual assault trial.

Hoggard has stayed out of the spotlight since he was first charged in 2016. The charges relate to three separate sexual assault incidents involving two women, one under the age of 16.

After getting postponed several times, Hoggard's preliminary hearing date has officially been set for July 2019. The trial will follow in 2020. Hedley has been on an indefinite hiatus since the allegations went public.

However, Hoggard's now-wife and close friends are clearly choosing to stand by him and support him through it all.

It's unclear how long Hoggard and Asselstine were dating before deciding to get married.
