News just broke that the lead singer of Hedley, Jacob Hoggard, was arrested and charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm and sexual interference by Toronto Police. His arrest is part of an ongoing investigation.
After accusations came earlier this year, the Toronto police are following up on the alleged incidents where Hoggard met with two women on three different dates in 2016. He is said to have committed sexual assault on both women.
While Hoggard denied what were rumours of this story back in March, claiming he had never been non-consensual, the Toronto police are concerned that there may be more victims to the singer.
It's clear that this is a horrible situation but some people are taking pride in the fact that a man who allegedly hurt people is now being held accountable.
Jacob Hoggard finally being charged with sexual assault is the only silver lining to this absolutely horrible day in Toronto— Emma Schützkowski (@emmaschuetz) July 23, 2018

People who were previously defending the singer are speaking out about his recent arrest and it seems like it has changed a lot of minds.
saw Jacob Hoggard trending....I've officially lost all respect for this man I can't believe I defended that pile of shit when the allegations first came out I've loved hedley since I was a teenager but no more cause Jacob Hoggard is a pile of steaming shit— Jillian (@mjgurl26) July 23, 2018
There is still a lot of conflict between fans of the band and people who believe that their music is no longer credible given the circumstances.
Some people are going as far as to say that they're devastated by the news but really it shouldn't come as that surprising given the allegations that came out earlier this year.

Considering Hoggard is being charged with sexual assault with bodily harm and sexual interference, which means the victim was under the age of consent, you can't really blame the public for their reactions to the alleged situation.
Hoggard is due in court on Thursday at Old City Hall Courthouse in Toronto at 2:00 P.M. It will be interesting to see how this trial plays out.
