Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is touching down in the six on this cold and gloomy Monday. He's slated to make an appearance at Toronto's Koerner Hall, at 273 Bloor Street West.
The reason for his visit - Women in the World Canada, a one-day summit honouring the work of women from all around the world. "Politicians, artists, journalists and other high-profile individuals" will be landing in Toronto for the summit, CTV News reports.
Hundreds of guests will gather at Kroener Hall today for Trudeau's speech. Other big-name guests include Mira Sorvino and director and screenwriter Steve McQueen, author, actress and director Amber Tamblyn, actress Rosamund Pike, actor Jamie Dornan director Matthew Heineman, award-winning journalist and bestselling author Katie Couric.
Guests and attendees will be tackling major topics including stereotypes and barriers for women in private and public sectors, the rise of populism and "authoritarian strong men leaders."
The summit comes just days after the Toronto International Film Festival's official kickoff - celebrities like Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, KJ Appa and Chris Pine have each made an appearance at film premieres in the city since TIFF began last Thursday.
