A photo of a billboard that was spotted in the U.S. has recently gone viral and caught the attention of many Canadians. Our very own Prime Minister can add a new achievement to his list because he is apparently now the model for a canoe/kayak advertisement in the States. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was randomly spotted on a billboard in the US and Canadians think the whole thing is downright hilarious.
The billboard that features Justin Trudeau and his family is an advertisement for a tourism company called Mammoth Cave Canoe and Kayak. The ad seems to have been originally shared online in April 2018 but has resurfaced this week and gone totally viral. The billboard was seen in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The ad features Prime Minister, his wife and kids.
The billboard recently gained widespread attention among Canadians when it was posted yesterday to the Reddit Canada thread. The post was from Redditor nevinwebster and titled "Trudeau in Kentucky". Check out what the billboard looks like, as shown in the Reddit post.
Since being uploaded to Reddit less than a day ago, the post has completely blown up on the platform. It has gotten almost over 5,000 upvotes, as well as hundreds of comments.
Several Redditors are pointing out that the placement of Trudeau and his family on a random billboard is probably an accident – meaning some people in Kentucky don't actually know who our prime minister is and/or may not know what he looks like.
Justin Trudeau, wife Sophie, and their two kids all just look like the perfect wholesome family to put up on a tourism billboard and Canadians are joking around that Americans can't be blamed for it.
Some Redditors are even pointing out that when you type "family in canoe" in Google, you actually get a picture of Trudeau and his family in a canoe. After attempting this myself, I can confirm that this is true. Justin Trudeau in a canoe comes up third in the search results.
Many others just thought the whole thing was downright hilarious.
The billboard was already posted onto Reddit Kentucky nine months ago but it was uploaded to an American thread and did not blow up. It only got eight comments. It wasn't until yesterday when it was posted on Reddit Canada, that the billboard went viral.
