JUUL Has Announced They’re Stopping Sales Of Flavoured Products Across The United States

If you're a fan of the delicious flavours that Juul, an e-cigarette company, offers then you are going to be exceptionally disappointed with today's news. Surprisingly, the company has agreed to halt sales of flavoured products in various stores across the USA.
The e-cigarette company has received a ton of backlash recently since many teenagers across North America have become obsessed with using the popular e-cigarettes. Now, the company has responded by halting sales of their flavoured products temporarily.
While the halt is only temporary currently, the purpose of it is to drive teenagers who are currently using Juuls to stop abusing the product. The company now will only sell tobacco, menthol and mint flavours in their in-store retailers, with every other flavour only being available for sale on their website.
Earlier today, Juul posted on their Instagram account that they would be no longer using their Instagram account as of November 13th. Their caption read, "Juul labs has made the decision that this official #JUUL Instagram account will no longer be active as of November 13, 2018. We will not be posting any future content here and will not respond to any direct messages. The Juul community and our customers are very important to us."
The decision to halt sales in retail stores comes after criticism that young people, particularly those below the legal age to smoke, are opting to vape instead. According to BBC, Chief executive of Juul, Kevin Burns, said that he did not want his company to be the "on-ramp" for youth in North America to begin smoking.
Recently the US Food and Drug Administration, more commonly known as the FDA, declared they were debating banning e-cigarettes and asked the top five brands, including Juul, to come up with a solution.
While it may seem counter-intuitive to have flavoured products available online for purchase, it does come with more security measures than purchasing in store. Online you must have a registered Juul to purchase products and an account with your verified age.

In Juul's statement, they explain that launching flavours such as "Mango, Fruit, Creme, and Cucumber" were meant to be effective tools to get adults to quit smoking but they understand how it can drive the youth appeal of smoking.
While the new regulations for the e-cigarette do make some changes for youths who use Juuls, adults who are looking for their regular flavours will now have to take their cartridge shopping online.
