Legend Stephen Hawking Dies, But Not Before Giving A Dire Warning To Humanity

If he was right we're all screwed

Stephen Hawking, the storied scientist famous for his work on black holes and relativity died in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He was also the author of a variety of books, including the bestseller Brief History of Time.

Hawking suffered from rare form of motor neurone disease. He was originally given only a few years to live when he was diagnosed at the age of 22.

Before he died Hawking gave a dire warning about his predictions for the future of humanity.

Hawking predicted that humans will eventually need to move to another planet in order to survive saying, "We are running out of space on Earth and we need to break through the technological limitations preventing us from living elsewhere in the universe."

He also predicted that climate change could eventually push the human species to the brink of extinction.

He even thought that artificial intelligence could eventually take over the world in some sort of Terminator style dystopian future.

"A super intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing its goals, and if those goals aren’t aligned with ours, we’re in trouble," he said.

He leaves behind three children and a lasting legacy in the world of science.
