Michelle Obama is one probably the most iconic and inspirational First Lady of our generation, if not of all time. That's why her brand new book, Becoming, has been wildly popular.
Just as popular as the book itself is the accompanying tour. After nights of sold-out talks across America, it was just announced that Michelle Obama is extending her book tour and four Canadian stops are now on the list.
Obama will now be coming to four Canadian cities as part of the tour next year. She will be in Vancouver on March 21st, Edmonton on March 22nd, and then in Montreal on May 3rd, and finishing it off in Toronto on May 4th.
The extended tour announcement also includes 11 more US stops and six new tour dates in Europe. The tickets for the new dates go on sale this weekend but if the tour so far is any indication they will go quickly and they're not cheap.
On Ticketmaster, all the upcoming dates of the "Becoming" tour are completely sold out, which means the new dates will probably sell fast too. So you'll have to act fast if you're hoping to get your hands on some. Of course, if you're hoping to score tickets, you'll also need a pretty big pile of cash.
While the exact prices of the new Canadian tour aren't yet out, tickets for Obama's American shows are selling on Stubhub for thousands of dollars. In some cases floor seats are selling for over $2000 USD, that's $3000 CAD for just one ticket, and it's not even in the front row. The cheapest ticket on Stubhub for one of her shows is $75 USD and that's way up in the balcony.
Michelle Obama came out with her memoir last month. It details her life before and during her time as First Lady of the United States and gets really candid and real about some of her personal struggles. She has made over $3 million off the book sales already.
