The daughter of the late pop legend Michael Jackson has now spoken out about the death of her grandfather and family manager, Joe Jackson. Jackson died today at 89-years old after battling terminal pancreatic cancer.
Paris Jackson took to Instagram this evening to share a long tribute to her grandfather. In it, she revealed that she had spent some of his final hours with him.
She calls her grandpa "the Hawk" in the post and goes on to share what an incredible legacy he left for the Jackson family.
"spending those last few moments with you were everything. being able to tell you everything i needed to tell you before saying goodbye was such a blessing. everyone that came to visit you, came with love, respect, and so much pride in their hearts for you. proud of you, proud to be your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, proud to have your strength and share the dynasty you spent your life creating, and proud to be a jackson," it read.
Joe Jackson had over 11 children in total, 10 with his wife Katherine Jackson who is also mother to both Michael and Janet Jackson. He also had another child during a 25-year long affair.
Other members of the Jackson family have been honouring the patriarch of the family online as well. Latoya Jackson, the late Jackson's daughter, went to Twitter, while Paris' older brother Price also went to Instagram to share his feelings. Janet Jackson has remained silent online at this time.
I will always love you! You gave us strength, you made us one of the most famous families in the world. I am extremely appreciative of that, I will never forget our moments together and how you told me how much you cared. #RIP Joe Jacksonhttps://t.co/F5UfYjEgYx— La Toya Jackson (@latoyajackson) June 27, 2018
Joe Jackson has faced criticism in the past from his children on his management techniques, stating that there was abuse during their early career days. The father always remained that his methods were what kept the Jackson family successful and out of trouble.
