Former First Lady Michelle Obama is visiting Toronto in May 2019, as part of her Becoming speaking tour. Dates and locations for Michelle Obama's Canadian tour dates were announced just last week. Tickets to her Toronto show went on sale at 10:00 AM on Saturday and reportedly sold out in minutes. Frustrated Torontonians were left in Ticketmaster's online waiting room for hours, only to discover that the seats left remaining are over $800 each.

On Ticketmaster, the cheapest remaining seats are Official Platinum and range from $865 to a whopping $2,298 each. Out of 19,800 seats in the Scotiabank Arena, there are only about two dozen vacant seats left.

The successful turnout is a far cry from Bill and Hillary Clinton's speaking tour date in Toronto last month. The Clintons struggled to sell tickets to the Scotiabank Arena, even though they only had a fraction of the arena's seating up for sale. Ticket prices dropped to just $6 on StubHub just 30 minutes before they were set to take the stage.

Toronto is the last stop on Michelle Obama's Canadian leg of her Becoming tour. She will be in Vancouver on March 21st, Edmonton on March 22nd and Montreal on May 3rd. At each of those three cities, hundreds of seats are still up for sale. In Vancouver, ticket prices start at just $183 each. In Montreal, seats in the back rows are only $51. With such cheap and plentiful seating in other cities, Michelle Obama fans in Toronto are even considering making a weekend of it and attending her Montreal show instead. At this point, it's honestly not a bad idea.
