Canada's Newest Glow In The Dark $20 Coin Features A UFO Because Of This Crazy Moment In History
This is out of this world.
We all know that the Royal Canadian Mint sometimes releases coins for certain specific events of significance in Canadian history, like when Canada turned 150. It helps those coins stand out from all the others in our pocket change and they’re always a little fun to look at because they’re different and new.
The mint’s newest coin is well, unusual to say the least. It has a UFO on it and is oddly shaped. You can see it in the middle of the photo bellow.
Now I know what you’re thinking, what kind of Canadian history event has anything to do with UFOs?
They never taught anything like that in school that’s for sure. But apparently, there is one.
Apparently back in May of 1967 a Manitoba man named Stefan Michalak was out looking for precious metals around a place called Falcon Lake.
He says that while he was out there he saw 2 things shaped like cigars in the sky. One of them apparently landed near him.
Michalak says that he believed it to be some kind of top secret military hardware and that he spent around 30 minutes drawing the object.
When the object didn’t move he says that he mustered up the courage to approach it.
He says that he reached out to touch it but the thing melted the tips of the gloves that he was wearing.
He says that it then spun counter-clockwise and blasted him with got gasses, which he claims set both his hat and shirt on fire.
Now, whether or not you believe any of that it is a pretty good story.
Good enough to earn itself its own collectors coin, which apparently even glows in the dark (), as you can see in the picture above.
Now these are collectors coins so you have to buy them, which you can do here.
