Birth control pills have been around for women for decades. Other than condoms there hasn't been much of a comparable for men though.
But that may be changing soon.
There is a pill promising to be the first birth control pill for men according to a new study.
The study found that the pill was effective when taken every day for a month.
When it comes to birth control pills for men you may be wondering 'why has it taken so long just to get to this point?'
There's a few different reasons, one being that men obviously make thousands of sperm each day whereas women have one egg a month. There's also issues with the different hormones men and women produce.
Only 83 men participated in the study and more testing will need to be done so don't expect male birth control pills to suddenly become available tomorrow.
So how long until it reaches consumers pharmacy shelves? The best guess out there right now seems to be that sometime in the next 5-10 years till you'll be able to get your hands on it.
So while not exactly right around the corner it will likely be available within your lifetime.
And that is a good thing.
