As you may know, today is Amazon Prime Day. In addition, the CEO of Amazon was just announced as the richest man in modern history. On most days, this would seem like exciting news, but not today.
Not only are people across the internet furious with Jeff Bezos, they're upset over the website crashing on Amazon Prime Day. Canadians across the nation were amped up to spend their savings on some amazing deals on Amazon.ca, only to find out that the website has crashed!
But, that's not the only thing people are angry about. More importantly, people across the internet are furious with Jeff Bezos himself. People are calling him out all over Twitter and here's why.
#AmazonStrike begins today but workers are calling for a boycott through #PrimeDay on July 16th.— Bonnie Castillo (@NNUBonnie) July 12, 2018
Amazon workers experience exhaustion, dehydration and injuries at the workplace.
Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world. His workers deserve better! #UnionStrong #PrimeDay2018 pic.twitter.com/WmSQaJTkNv
The Amazon CEO is reportedly worth $143.1 billion USD. That's a ton of money that most people would celebrate. But unfortunately, Bezos is at the centre of a huge scandal regarding the allegedly horrible work conditions at Amazon.
Twitter users don't care if Bezos is the richest man in modern history, they're angrier than ever that he's succeeding while Amazon workers suffer horrible work conditions.
Here are some of the tweets.

Will Jeff Bezos have the guts to face Amazon workers at our town hall tonight at 7 pm ET and explain why he's worth $151 billion but won't pay them a living wage?— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) July 16, 2018
I stand with the Amazon workers fighting for decent working conditions and a living wage on #PrimeDay.— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) July 16, 2018
While Jeff Bezos' wealth increases by $275 million a day, Amazon workers are afraid to take bathroom breaks at work and are grossly underpaid. https://t.co/FRg0qz5ca9

- Jeff Bezos is the richest person in history and 1,430 Amazon employees in Ohio alone qualify for food stamps
- Warehouse employees are forced to work in extremely high temperatures/are docked paid time for bathroom breaks
- The company barely pays taxes

Amazon doesn’t pay any federal taxes?— Amir (@AmirAminiMD) July 16, 2018
Jeff Bezos is a cartoon villain who works for the Pentagon?
Amazon employees are being treated like slaves?
Amazon is killing small businesses everywhere?
Amazon is killing the planet?
Did I mention that Bezos is pure evil trash? #PrimeDay https://t.co/z1MM4yG4Pm
