After 47 Years, California's Iconic 'The Donut Man' Shop Will Open A 2nd Location
Ah, we can taste it now!
For many California residents, The Donut Man has a massive following. Ever since its doors opened in 1972, guests have been flooding in for sweet treats. Now, the Donut Man has finally announced they will be opening a second location after 47 years.
The Donut Man is owned by Jim Nakano and his wife. Demand has grown over the years for the shop to expand. Donut Man’s Manager, Aaron Wearp told the LA Times that “We have a big enough following and group of fans that we can’t produce what we would like to at one location. It’s impossible.”
You will find the new stand at downtown LA’s Grand Central Market. According to LA Mag, the offerings will be similar to the famous Glendora location’s menu. Guests can choose from iconic seasonal strawberry and peach-stuffed donuts or classic options like glazed and chocolate.
The Grand Central Market location is set to open next February, but it won’t be open 24 hours a day. Hours will be set from 7 am to 10 pm daily. The hours at the Glendora location will remain the same.
According to KTLA, you will be able to find the new Donut Man location next to Broadway by the market stall A-1.
Since the original store is at least 30 minutes from downtown LA, this is surely a sweet treat for locals.
