Disneyland Just Made A Special Tribute To Kobe Bryant & It's Absolutely Heartwarming
It's been four days since the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his thirteen-year-old daughter Gigi. The world has been paying beautiful tributes to these two and it's clear that their legacy will live on. One stood out to us in particular. This Disneyland Kobe Bryant tribute is so heartwarming.
First, Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, and Goofy (aka the Fab 5) gathered in a big huddle in front of watching fans and reenacted Kobe's legendary jump shot pose together.
But this spontaneous tribute wasn't the only one that happened at the park.
Disneyland reportedly shut down No. 8 on Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland since that was one of the Black Mamba's favorite family rides. The vehicle was covered up in his and his daughter's honor.
On January 26, Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger tweeted, "Our company @Disney mourns the tragic loss of @kobebryant ...one of the most respected & popular athletes of our time...a friend and a fan of ours, full of life and taken from us too soon."
Big Kobe fans know that he loved taking his family to The Happiest Place on Earth. During an old fan Q&A session, Bryant spoke about his love for Disneyland. When asked what his favorite ride was, he said, "I enjoy Soarin' Over California."
The Los Angeles Lakers legend frequently took his wife and daughters to the park for shows and special events. E Online revealed an adorable photo of the star laughing on the Matterhorn ride.
Here's a close up of the characters' tribute.
