Sometimes the simplest of gestures are the most meaningful. A Colorado artist's kind act surprised residents in the most heartwarming way. Denver's newest mural popped up over the weekend as a thank you to healthcare workers for all that they do.

"Thank you everyone for spreading this message. Most of all thank you Health care workers, you are our angels," wrote the artist, Austin Zucchini-Fowler, on his Instagram page

The massive painting located on the corner of Colfax and Gilpin in Denver depicts a woman in blue scrubs wearing a face mask, boxing gloves, a stethoscope, and massive angel wings.

It comes as a sign of hope and joy for Colorado residents who are working on the frontlines or have family or friends that are.

In days leading up to his completed mural, Zucchini-Fowler recorded the process and wrote, "Great progress today. Shout out to all the medical professionals out there! This work is dedicated to all your efforts. πŸ₯ŠπŸ’™"

Zucchini-Fowler's mural has over 1,400 Instagram likes since it's debut on Monday, April 13, 2020.

Many nurses expressed how they feel about his mural with one commenter writing, "This brought tears to my eyes! so beautiful, thank you πŸ’—."

This isn't the first time health care professionals have had murals and paintings dedicated to them.

Two boarded up shops in Vancouver, B.C., are decorated with paintings honoring some of Canada's health heroes. The closed shops transformed into spectacular works of art.

The completed piece of art shown above paints medical professionals as "angels." The stunning wings are vibrant and colorful, something that can be seen as a light at the end of the tunnel.

Denver has an extensive list of street art located on alleyways, exterior walls, and warehouses; however, this new mural reflects a message that's "dedicated to all [health care professionals] efforts.
