However, a few followers commented about the news on a previous Insta post by the festival, voicing their disappointment over the decision.
One commenter said that the cancellation ruined their family's weekend. A festival organizer responded to the commenter, expressing that the decision "did not come lightly" and that they "simply could not guarantee a first-class experience."
Another commenter pressed for why the festival was canceled. An organizer replied, "...we hope to correct the errors and bring this festival back in 2020." It has not yet been clarified what these errors were.
The South Beach Mango Festival is an annual event held on Miami Beach. The festival includes activities like mango tastings, competitions, auctions, cooking demonstrations, and yoga and meditation classes. Not to mention loads of mango-infused creations like tasty cocktails and delicious dishes for festival-goers to enjoy, with all-inclusive passes to food and drinks offered before the festival.
The festival uses only locally farmed mangoes to support Florida farmers. Over 100 vendors were expected at this year's festival, but it is unclear if they will return for next summer's postponed festival.
