Not only is COVID-19 burning through South Florida, but now the West Nile Virus in Miami cases are increasing.

The Florida Department of Health recently reported that Miami-Dade County's total number of infections went up two more spots on Monday, July 27.

Cases Of West Nile Virus In Miami 

Just a month ago, 14 people were stricken with the mosquito-borne virus, which can carry symptoms such as headaches and fatigue.

Miami is a haven for the virus thanks to its near-perfect climate the flying pest.

The recent rainy weather creates ideal breeding grounds for the insect, so the health department advises locals to drain any standing water.
