This weekend was a whirlwind event for Disney guests, and not really in the best way. The Disney Skyliner gondolas made their debut just last week, and there was no shortage of hype surrounding them.

As it so happens with many brand-new attractions, there was a big (massive) hiccup (borderline-disaster) Saturday night as the gondolas malfunctioned and froze, leaving guests dangling in the air for up to four hours.

While we were thankful this happened at night and not under the scorching Florida sun during the day, as the gondolas do not feature air conditioning, this was still not a laughing matter.

Until it was.

How else are you going to keep your sanity while hanging 40 feet above Disney than to take to Twitter with your thoughts? One guest’s Tweets of farewell letters to his family had us rolling, and we just had to share!

There’s no better way to keep your spirits up than by trying to make light of an otherwise dark situation. While many guests were distraught with anxiety or just overall vexation, Twitter user @MemmenPhil whittled the hours away with humor.

The Disney Skyliner cable cars started to malfunction and then shut down all together around 8 p.m. and didn't start moving until after 11 p.m.

Memmen began his commentary around 9:30, stating he had already been stuck for an hour and a half, and requesting that someone send beer and McDoubles to cabin 97. Oh, if only it were that easy.

At two hours in, Memmen confided in his family (and subsequent Twitter followers) that his faith was waning and he was trying very hard to keep in a fart as to not sabotage his fellow cabin-goers.

We’ll let you experience the light-hearted hilarity of the rest of his saga of Tweets for yourself.

Thankfully no injuries were reported, and as of now, the Disney Skyler is down for an indefinite amount of time as Disney investigates what caused the outage.
