As Disney fans hold their breath in anticipation for Governor DeSantis’ official go-ahead to reopen The Happiest Place on Earth, some changes to the official announcement have already been made. While Disney World Orlando plans a tentative reopening for July 11, they have retracted the mention of resort hotels opening on the same date from their website. Disney has also paused new ticket sales to the park.

Earlier this week, Disney announced plans to reopen the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom on July 11, followed by Hollywood Studios and Epcot on July 15, and their website included the mention of resort hotels, too.

The announcement's wording has since been altered to exclude the resorts. Walt Disney World News Today shared screenshots showing the statement change.

The official website notice does include, however, Disney Vacation Club Property reopenings in Vero Beach set for June 15, as well as Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground set for June 22.

In an effort to maintain limited park capacity, Disney will also implement an advance reservation system, pausing the sale of new tickets at this time.

The pausing of new ticket sales will allow park officials to focus on visitors with pre-existing reservations and annual pass holders first.

FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours have been suspended to keep park capacity down. Disney's website also states that dining reservations are currently unavailable.

To further help reduce the gathering of large crowds, parades, nighttime spectaculars, and fireworks have been officially canceled for an undetermined amount of time — though they have posted some virtual viewings of past displays to their Instagram page.

Once the doors finally do open, the magic will be a little different. Guests can expect mandatory face masks, temperature checks, as well as increased sanitation processes and social distancing measures.

While you wait for Disney's theme parks to officially reopen, some shops and restaurants have been able to open their doors at Disney Springs.
