Universal Studios Orlando is taking its tentative first steps to welcome eager guests back to one of their favorite parks, starting with their CityWalk. Starting this Thursday, May 14, certain shops and dining areas will be opening with limited hours, occupancy, and restrictions for guests. Social distancing guidelines and some restrictions will apply to both visitors and employees — even requirements for temperature checks.

Upon arrival, both guests and employees can expect to have their temperatures checked; those with a temp of 100.4 degrees or more will not be allowed in.

Face masks will be mandatory for employees and guests, too. Visible floor markings, as well as reduced capacity, will help promote social distancing.

CityWalk's will be open daily from 4:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. with free self-parking; however, valet parking will not be available at this time.

While the Universal Cinemark, Blue Man Group, and all its nightclubs will remain closed for the time being, you can still look forward to revisiting Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Red Oven Pizza Bakery, and Voodoo Doughnuts.

Restaurants will be offering limited menus at this time, as well as have spaced out tables to comply with social distancing guidelines.

The option of cashless payments will be available at all venues, as well as the opportunity to order food and drinks via the Universal Orlando Resort app.

Retail-only will also be available at Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company, Universal Studios Store, and Hollywood Drive-In Golf.

Universal Studios and CityWalk have been closed for months now, and while the partial reopening gives Floridians a chance to get out of the house and back to one of their favorite stomping grounds, visitors should continue following CDC guidelines to stay safe.
