With the height of the pandemic came the temporary closing of a lot of businesses across the Sunshine State. As business owners try to innovate and keep the ball rolling, entrepreneurs are coming up with ways to adjust their aim amidst the uncertainty of what will be considered "normal" β€” and that's exactly the case for this epic new drive-in theater coming to Tampa's Armature Works next month that will be contact-free and COVID safe.

It comes with a little spin on the classic drive-in experience that might just be worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of delicious food.

What will the experience be like?

As a collaborative effort between Tampa's food hall, Armature Works, and Rooftop Cinema Club, The Drive-in at Armature Works will be a contact-free movie goer's paradise starting on October 15.

Situated on the lot at Armature, you'll be able to enjoy movies under the stars, socially distanced in your car with views of the city skyline and Hillsborough River serving as the backdrop.

A 52-foot screen will have the movies projected on it, with the film's audio broadcast through your FM radio. Just like your typical drive-in, concessions, and even alcohol, will be available for purchase, with contactless ordering and pick up options.

Tickets will range between $22 and $34 depending on your vehicle type.

With it being at a food hall, what types of bites can you expect?

You'll find your typical movie concession eats such as popcorns, candies, and sodas, but being at Armature opens you up to another world of options.

You'll be able to purchase items from vendors located inside the food hall. Some eats you can find at Armature include Empamama's and their crispy Cuban sandwich-stuffed empanadas, Steelbach, Oak & Ola, M. Bird, Urban Kai, and Stone's Throw.

Boozy bevs will also be available, though you'll have to purchase and drink it outside of your vehicle. No outside food and beverage will be allowed at this drive-in.

What guidelines will you need to follow?

Being a socially distanced event, you can expect ushers to guide you where to park your car, as well as maintain social distance when you exit your vehicle and aren't around your own party.

Guests will also be required to wear masks when exiting their vehicles for any reason such as picking up concessions or using the restroom.

If you've been exposed to or have COVID-19, have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or any other symptoms associated with it, organizers ask that you do not attend until you're clear.

Motorcycles, scooters, and vehicles over 20 feet long and 8 feet fall are not allowed. Any guidelines that aren't followed will result in guests being asked to leave without a refund.

Looks like a new kind of night out might be in your near future.
