The Peach State is getting its first brief taste of fall this week and it's looking like the July-tober we were experiencing is coming to an end. Things are cooling down now, but the incoming showers this month will really bring about a chilly breeze. Get used to the rain people, because Georgia winter 2019 weather predictions are looking to be filled with nothing but showers.

Atlanta might become the new Seattle because weather forecasters have predicted an excessive amount of rain headed our way this winter. The 2019-2020 winter has been described as "brisk and wet," according to AccuWeather's annual winter forecast predictions.

The Old and "New" Farmer's Almanacs have long been referenced to predict weather patterns long-term, and both forecasts agree that the wet season will hit Georgia hard. Say goodbye to your dreams of snow because the chances of another Snowpocalypse are low - but with the way Georgia weather switches up, you can never be too sure.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is claiming that rain will primarily take the place of snow this winter. Even though they predict no less than seven major snowstorms will hit from coast to coast, the Deep South won't even be in the mix. We can also expect the weather to heat back up in February.

Things look even grimmer on the "New" Farmer's Almanac side. They're predicting winter will plague most of the U.S. until April. While things are heating up in the South, Boston, New York and the Great Lakes might have to be put on pause for any trips. There's no exact measurement of how much rain will fall, but the precipitation will be fairly consistent so stay ready so you don't have to get ready.

Apparently, the last week of January 2020 will pack the coldest punch, so it might be the perfect time to make a run for Florida.

Instead of a snow shovel, keep an umbrella and rainboots by your door. It might also be a good idea to shop around for a light therapy lamp, as the rain will keep Georgia skies grey and gloomy.

To beat the winter blues, you can dine in an igloo at Publico Atlanta or take a ride on a bumper car on ice.
