Girl Scout Cookie Season Has Officially Been Extended In 3 Southern States
Here's where you can get them.
With many states being weeks into shelther-in-place orders, the snacks might start running out (if they haven't already). Southerners can now add Girl Scout Cookies to their daily lineup. Girl Scout Cookies in Tennessee are at a surplus and are looking for happy homes right now.
"These young ladies are entrepreneurs," said CEO of the Southern Appalachians chapter, Lynne Fugate. "They set goals, and acquired inventory to sell. It funds all the fun things they want to do and their community service projects."
of Southern Appalachians in East Tennessee has close to 100,000 cookies still to sell for this coming season.
Spring is normally a time when the green-uniformed girls go door-to-door or build outdooors stands to sell their product. Howevever, due to current circumstances, this is no longer possible.
This leaves local residents to buy their favorite flavors from each chapter's website only. With nooutdoors, local chapters are left with thousands of cookies to sell.
Currently, the East Tennessee chapter has 95,663 boxes left to sell. Each box costs only $4. Purchasers are also able to donate to the philanthropic organization directly, or buy a box or two for friends and loved ones.
On sale are Lemon-ups, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Girl Scout S'mores, and the gluten-free Toffee-tastic.
Outside of Tennessee, Florida and Georgia also have excess cookies for residents, near and far, to order.
Depending on the location a US resident may order from, deliveries can take up to two days to two weeks (business days), unless there are conflicting COVID-19 restrictions in place.
"Anything folks can do to help them meet their goals we would appreciate," said Fugate.
All proceeds from cookie purchases go to fun, educational activities for thewhen outdoor functions resume as well as First Responders in local communities.
Nothing says springtime like a brightly-colored box of Girl Scout cookies, and we could all use of a reminder of the happier days.
