Harry Oakes, the president of HOCO Limited, said that the highly anticipated attraction is scheduled to open in Niagara Falls this June.

"Our kind of official opening is like June 1st. We're hoping we get opened a little sooner, but that will be if everything falls in place and our inspections go well."

Regarding a sooner opening, representatives at Clifton Hill say that mid- to late May is still possible:

The Niagara Speedway is the first of its kind in Canada, taking up a three-acre lot in the Falls' Clifton Hill district. It's a unique experience that somewhat resembles a track in the classic Nintendo game Mario Kart, with its sharp turns, four-storey corkscrew and undulating ramp.

The ramp bears much similarity to a go-kart track in Branson, Missouri, which features similar elements:

The addition of the go-kart track was part of a larger rejuvenation project that also included updated restaurants, state-of-the-art attractions, concession stands and a new 750-space parking lot.

"Ripley's museum was totally gutted and redone," said Oakes. Kelsey's was totally renovated. We added a zombie attraction. We added some additional concessions. We added another arcade and we developed a 700-car parking lot."
