This Super Short Hike In North Carolina Leads To A Mesmerizing 150-Foot Waterfall

View a rainbow first thing in the morning, trust us.
North Carolina Hike With A Waterfall Has A Mystical Rainbow Inside

No matter where we are, we always stop to take a million pictures of the beautiful rainbow that forms after an afternoon storm, as if we've never seen one before. If you are a fan of these beautiful sky images, there is one spot about 55 miles from Asheville that you need to visit. This North Carolina hike with a waterfall gives you some pretty incredible views and usually has a rainbow in its mist.

Rainbow Falls is near Cashiers, North Carolina and inside of the Pisgah National Forest, but you have to cross through Gorges State Park first. When you see this waterfall, you will immediately think it's not real because of how insane this thing is. Coming in at a massive 150-feet tall, you'll be instantly mesmerized.

This part of North Carolina gets so much rain annually that it's considered a temperate rain forest. You'll literally be hiking through a rain forest so make sure you don't wear your nice tennis shoes because they WILL get muddy.

To get to Rainbow Falls, it's only about a 1.5-mile hike round trip from the parking lot. This is a good adventure for a cool, fall day that will not knock the wind out of you halfway through.

Almost the entire hike is downhill, except the last part of the hike to actually get to the falls, so you really won't have any trouble getting to it. It's the getting back up that might be a little difficult.

Following a river upstream during your journey will make for a relaxing hike that'll bring you an overall calmness. Eventually, you'll come to a small stream you have to cross. Here, you'll finally begin your inclined trek before you reach Rainbow Falls.

Hearing the waterfall before you see it will excite you and get your adrenaline pumping. The 150-foot waterfall will come into your view and you won't want to leave. There are a few viewing platforms and boulders you can lounge on to really get a great view of the falls.

If it's very sunny on the morning you decide to hike this trail, you might be able to see the rainbow in the mist of the falls (hence its name).

There are a few more waterfalls in the state that are worth visiting, like this 50-foot one with a clear pool at the bottom and this waterfall that has three different tiers
