Nursing Jobs In Canada Are Opening As The Government Increases Hires During Pandemic

If you’re a Canadian nurse, you can join the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and make good money doing it. The Public Health Agency of Canada is hiring COVID-19 nurses in many cities across the country. If you've been on the hunt for nursing jobs in Canada, this opportunity will be open until Thursday, April 30.

According to the Government of Canada, this new job posting comes as a result of increased efforts to contain the novel coronavirus, “enhanced border measures at airports and quarantine of repatriated Canadians.”

As a result, PHAC wants to create a roster of nurses to support the efforts right away. “This includes a need for quarantine officers, nurse managers, and other registered nurses,” they wrote.

The position pays from $80,906 to $122,926 and the job posting is open to nurses in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Halifax, Toronto, the Ottawa Region, Montreal, Regina, and other surrounding locations.

The job's duties include providing health assessments on travellers who have just returned to Canada, providing advice for senior management, and becoming a part of “the Public Health Agency of Canada’s representative to network.”

In order to apply, all you need to provide is your resume. You must be a Registered Nurse in Canada to apply.

It’s important to understand that you’re not applying for a specific job when you apply to this posting.

You’re actually applying for “an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment,” the posting explains.

As the novel coronavirus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, more cases are being reported and monumental changes are being made around the globe. In terms of healthcare, retired doctors in British Columbia are even being asked to come back to work.

The world is watching as iconic events and businesses announce closures or suspensions. The NHL, NBA, and other major sports leagues have even announced the suspension of their respective seasons.

These steps are being taken for public safety reasons, and this national call-out for nurses is of the same nature.
