With the power of God, one Canadian man from Cobourg has been able to break many world records. Reverend Kevin Fast is officially titled the World's Strongest Pastor. The Ontario strong man has set 32 Guinness World Records as he pulls, lifts, and tosses things that any ordinary man wouldn't be able to do.
The latest edition of the Guinness World Record book was published on Sept. 3, 2019, and it features a long list of incredible achievements by Fast.
Fast's is a fascinating story, and here's the tale of how a man went from being a Reverend of the Lutheran Church to being the World's Strongest Pastor.
Fast recalls attending a Highland game where people were competing in strength-type competitions. Being able to witness that piqued his interest in trying the sport out for himself.
"One day, I saw somebody pulling a firetruck on TV and I thought 'I wonder If I can do that?' So I called up the fire department, I asked if I could borrow a truck and they said sure," says Fast to Narcity.
"God gave me this gift of strength," he adds.
After a year of training and getting a feel of the sport, Fast earned his first Guinness World Record in 1998. Since then, he's increased that number significantly.

"I have set 31 Guinness world records, my best record is the plane pull, it weighed 416,000 pounds," Fast adds.
When asked to name his most notable accomplishment, Fast mentions having pulled three firetrucks.
"My best truck pull was actually three firetrucks tied together and that weighed about 218,000 pounds," he says.
Fast also pulled an entire three-bedroom house weighing 36 tonnes. With the help of Guinness World Records, he was able to raise $70,000 for Habitats of Humanity.
According to Guinness World Records, the heaviest house pulled by an individual weighed at about 79,145 pounds was achieved by Fast. He ended up pulling the house 11.95 metres in Cobourg back in 2010, only taking about a minute to do it.
"I find that to build up my strength to the maximum that I can produce takes about six weeks," says Fast.
When asked what he would like to accomplish next, Fast says a space shuttle. "I always wanna pull something bigger and more impressive and so I'm still waiting for the chance to pull a space shuttle."
No matter what life throws at him or what he decides to take on next, Fast believes that the journey it takes to get to where he needs to be is the best part of it all.
He doesn't have anything set in terms of what he will be doing next, but he's ready for whatever comes his way.
