If you've been wondering how to make your November a little more exciting, then here's your answer. A unique festival is coming to Ontario, and it's kind of a big "dill". The event celebrates an iconic green food in all the best ways, and if you love pickles, then you definitely need to go! Whether you enjoy these tangy cucumbers in sandwiches, deep-fried, or on their own, Ontario's 2019 PickleFest will have you pickle-obsessed as soon as you walk through the door.
Ontario isn't a stranger to unique food festivals. From the CNE's outrageous dishes to a patriotic butter tart festival, there's no denying that we love celebrating delicious eats. Now, you can partake in a pickle-themed day at this hilarious celebration.
The annual event takes place in downtown Kitchener at THEMUSEUM on Friday, November 15, 2019. You'll be able to take part in tastings and activities that pay tribute to our favourite pickled veggie.
Chow down on some dill-icious pickle-inspired dishes from over 10 restaurants, and sip on some drinks from a variety of local breweries. A few confirmed companies include Cowbell Brewing Co. and Four All Ice Cream. While this year's pickle dishes haven't been confirmed yet, last year's features included pickled-flavoured ice cream and pickled watermelon!
Not only can you try some crazy themed foods, but you can also participate in a range of activities. There will be a corn hole toss, pickle-inspired balloon twisting, button-making, a pickle eating contest, and more!
Tickets are $35 each and include one sample from each restaurant and brewery, as well as a beer tasting glass and access to museum exhibitions. Tickets go on sale on October 23, at 9 a.m, so get your finest pickle-loving friends together and have a dill-lightful time!
