6 Of The Craziest Rides At Disney World Orlando

While Disney World is better known for its whimsical and charming elements of dreamy castles and cuddly characters, it is nonetheless a purveyor of thrilling and scream-worthy rides. Not all of them are coasters, but they’ll still get the adrenaline pumping. While the fam is busy meeting Mickey and Minnie, the thrill-seekers of the group can stay entertained with these crazy Disney roller coasters.

Summit Plummet

Address: 1534 Blizzard Beach Drive, Kissimmee, FL

Why You Need To Go: For a waterslide, this ride ranks pretty high on the thrill list with insane height and speed. At 120 feet in the air and gaining seeds of 60 mph, Summit Plummet is one of the world’s tallest, fastest water slides.

Mission: SPACE

Address: 200 Epcot Center Dr, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: Unless you’re an astronaut, you’ve never felt sensations like what you get on this ride. Mission: SPACE replicates space travel and liftoff and even has sustained G-forces. If you’re getting queasy just thinking about it, they do have one that doesn’t spin.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Address: 351 S Studio Dr, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: Three words, faster than freefall. We’re not sure what’s worse, those insane drops and lifts, or the moments of anticipation leading up to them.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Address: 351 S Studio Dr, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: The only Disney coaster to include inversions, this launch ride comes right out the gate from 0 to 57 mph in about 2.8 seconds, set to a classic Aerosmith soundtrack. Rock & roll, baby!

Expedition Everest

Address: 2901 Osceola Pkwy, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: A thrilling coaster and themed dark ride, Everest gives you stomach-dropping descents and even sends you backwards through the dark! A great one to ride during the nighttime, too.

Space Mountain

Address: 1180 Seven Seas Drive, Orlando, FL

Why You Need To Go: A classic Disney ride and probably one of the most well-known indoor coasters, Space Mountain actually only runs at 27 mph. The thrill comes in the form of operating in complete darkness, making the coaster seem faster and scarier.
