News surrounding the epic new changes to Disney World’s Epcot park came to us around late summertime, and even with the closing of the year, the hype has barely died down. And how could it? This is the first major transformation Epcot has gone through since it opened in 1982.
While the infamous World Showcase will be staying the same, the rest of the park will be barely recognizable when all the updates are finished. Not the least exciting of all is World Celebration, which will be a 3-story pavilion, topped with “a park that sits in the sky.”
World Celebration will sit at the park’s center, and we can only imagine what the view from the top of the fabled sky-park will look like.
Walt Disney foretold that Epcot “would always be in a state of becoming,” and that was never truer after the tidal wave of exciting announcements at the D23 Expo 2019.
From a total revamping of Epcot’s Future World into three distinct pavilions to the addition of new and old character worlds, including Moana and Mary Poppins, to a thrilling new coaster, there’s a lot to look forward to.
As for World Celebration, it will be the very first pavilion guests will see when entering the park. When first walking into World Celebration, guests can imagine a brand-new fountain centerpiece, new pathways, and lots of green space.
As part of the breathtaking views of Celebration, Dreams Point will feature lush gardens, a wishing tree in an enchanted forest, and an interactive new story fountain, which is very Disney.
Celebration will also be the future site of Epcot festivals and will provide a stunning view of Showcase and any nighttime shows.
For more exciting Disney announcements, you can look forward to the first-ever Mickey-themed ride coming next year, and the coolest ways to celebrate winter at Disney.
