This Orlando Shop Serves The Cutest Flower-Shaped Japanese Mochi Donuts

Orlando is a magical city and this isn't only due to the famous Disney parks. From time to time, you can come across little foodie wonders that somehow have remained hidden in plain sight for many of us. A good example is one of the cutest places to get donuts in Orlando — where you can find unique flower-shaped sweet treats.
Dochi Florida is home to some of the cutest donuts ever, and they are also a pretty original and delicious Japanese-inspired recipe.
The flower-shaped treats are a yummy mix between a traditional Japanese rice cake called Mochi, and the classic fried donut. The shop name, Dochi, is a combination of the "D" from donut and "ochi" from Mochi. How cleverly cute!
If you are curious about the taste and texture, this dessert is slightly crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside with a perfectly doughy center.
Dochi has created a variety of exotic and Asian-inspired flavors, glazes, and toppings to satisfy each one of your sweet tooth cravings too.
You can try the blueberry pie with pie crumble, ube glaze, cookies and cream with cookie butter drizzle, taro with Fruity Pebbles cereal, matcha Oreo, salted caramel and chocolate crisp, to name a few.
Since each donut is made with rice flour, that makes them less greasy and sweet than a typical doughnut.
The donut ring is also pretty unique. Its design is inspired by the round shape of the Japanese Mochi, and according to their website, this will allow you to share this delight more easily.
We won't judge if you don't want to share, though.
It is frequently asked if being made of rice makes Dochi donuts gluten-free. Sadly no, because they contain a portion of wheat. And they are not vegan either because the recipe contains milk and eggs.
However, they do plan to work on both vegan-friendly and celiac-approved tasty options soon.
Dochi is located upstairs of East End Market and is open only Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They also have another shop in Seattle.
You can purchase these "dochis" in the store during their open hours, but take into account that even though they try to make enough of them, sometimes they sell out before they close.
In case you want to order five or more dozen, you can pre-order by contacting them via Instagram DM or e-mail.
