If there's one thing we know about Germans, they know how to eat and drink. From the best juicy bratwurst to boozy beers overflowing in a massive stein glass, they deliver. You'll wanna hike up your lederhosen for a free to attend Orlando area Oktoberfest later this month.
If it's free, it's for me, and a festival is no exception to this rule! At Oviedo Oktoberfest, you can definitely expect to find some mouthwatering German food — because who doesn't love a good bratwurst or "Rinderroulade" (beef roll)? Still, some non-German fare will also be available.
We just gotta make sure we grab us a good German soft pretzel and some beer cheese!
Every good brat needs a drink. Pair your bites with some booze from the "Biergarten." They're even going to have a non-alcoholic Root Beer Garten, new this year to the event.
Oviedo Oktoberfest will also have contests for you to test your German skills. Put your grip strength to the test with the beer stein holding competition, nail it in a game of Hammerspiel, and compete in a lederhosen hike-up contest.
Live music and authentic German dancers will also be featured at the event, setting the tone for your adventure through German fare — you may just forget that you're still in Florida.
This genial Germanfest (that's German for AWESOME) is taking place at the Oviedo Amphitheatre & Cultural Center later this month. The festival will run for three days starting Thursday, September 26 to Saturday, September 28 — and of course admission is FREE.
If you're looking for more foodie adventures, check out this FREE mac n cheese festival coming to Tampa this October or indulge in boozy milkshakes, mac n cheese–topped chicken sandwiches, and bacon Sriracha queso fries at this sinfully delicious St. Pete eatery.
