There's A Hidden Japanese Cafe In Orlando & It Has The Most Kawaii Foods

The craze of everything “kawaii” has certainly not spared America; with adorable figurines, merch, and even cute food permeating Japanese cultural festivals around the states. Even trending stores like Hot Topic, Five Below, and Target are known to supply adorable Japanese characters in the form of plushies and clothes. Anything and everything can be “kawaii” if you try hard enough, and at this new Orlando coffee shop, La Kuma Coffee, the desserts are so cute, you may feel a little guilty about eating them!
La Kuma Coffee is run by Justin Xiong, who had a goal to bring authentic Japanese coffee culture to Orlando. Xiong is Taiwanese, but explains that Taiwanese culture is heavily influenced by Japanese culture, and when he first started to become a coffee connoisseur in his high school days, that Japanese flair was already present in his day-to-day experiences.
The Japanese are proud and precise, and this is exactly what drew Xiong to their coffee culture. He was determined to replicate the dedication and craftsmanship he witnessed in Japanese coffee. It is both a science and an art, providing authentic coffee at an affordable price.
But with all things Japan comes all things adorbs, and that’s where the desserts come in.
Accompany your fine Japanese coffee with a fresh slice of matcha mousse cake, or maybe the very deceiving Oreo pot mousse, which totally looks like a pot of dirt with a tiny shrub in it.
Good luck trying to devour the adorable bunny yogurt mousse, it’s just too cute! Or try the modern Japanese “raindrop” dessert. And don’t get us started on the panda cream puffs.
Xiong only sources organic beans from a local roaster Blessed Bean Coffee. He also uses top-quality milk and milk alternatives, so you know you’re only getting the best.
The actual brewing process uses classic Japanese precision with special equipment, accurate water temperature, and meticulous brewing methods.
Xiong’s mission is to offer a new coffee experience that encourages people to sit down and enjoy every sip, along with the cutest desserts you’ll ever see or taste!
