So many exciting things are coming to Orlando soon, but there's one wizardly thing that stands out from the rest. This year at Universal Studios, the Dark Arts are coming to Hogwarts Castle like never before.
All good HP fans know when Voldemort asked Dumbledore to make him the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and was promptly turned down, Voldemort cursed the teaching position and everyone who held it from then on. That’s why there’s a new teacher in the position every year.
This Dark Arts show is a play on Voldemort's nasty trickery.
Universal Studios Orlando’s newest addition to the Hogwarts Castle Projection Show is debuting Sept. 14, titled Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle. It will run through Nov. 15, after which the Christmas show will take over.
Called the best version of the Hogwarts show yet, it features icons of the dark side of the wizarding world, including old Volde himself. Weather permitting, it will also be the first to use drones in a nighttime show at Universal. Muggle contraptions aren’t all bad!
Just in time for Halloween, this new projection show will only be running on select nights, so make sure you time your visit accordingly so you don’t miss out! Once dusk falls, traffic through Hogsmeade is bottlenecked to just one entrance, so make sure you get in early.
Along with the show, guests will also have to watch out for Death Eaters practicing the Dark Arts and roaming freely through Hogsmeade!
You’ll have to summon all your strength to face the likes of dementors, Death Eaters, and more as they swarm Hogwarts Castle. Think of your happiest memories, call forth your Patronus charm, and banish them from Hogwarts grounds! And then maybe go warm up with a round of butterbeer at The Leaky Cauldron afterwards.
